Tape Applicator
The key to precise gluing
Tape application through the tape applicator serves for optimal stabilisation in the gluing process. Here, the applied safety tape stabilises the V-groove as a kind of folding hinge for precise positioning during gluing and thus prevents unintentional slipping of the angles - for optimal final results.
What does the tape application process look like?
Step 1:
The optional scoring saw integrated in the tape applicator ensures a clean cut for the subsequent milling process by scoring the material beforehand.
Step 2:
The tape is applied by an applicator moving under the workpiece before V-groove milling.
Step 3:
The workpiece is routed through the V-groove milling cutter from above, but without cutting the tape in the process.
Step 4:
Liquid adhesive is applied to the resulting inner surfaces.
Step 5:
The workpiece is folded precisely in the folding machine.
Step 6:
The adhesive strip is removed again - automatically in the longitudinal pass, manually in the transverse pass.
Other alternatives to the tape applicator
In the longitudinal run, there are other possibilities for the optimal gluing process besides tape application.
Flexible coating:
With soft surface materials, the coating of the workpiece can also serve as a stabiliser during gluing, just like the adhesive strip. When routing, here too only the wood is cut through - the coating remains undamaged.
Positioning profile:
With a positioning profile milled into the workpiece, the angles are glued with high precision by precise interlocking.
These variants can also be combined with each other according to the customer's wishes, so that suitable solutions are always available for different types of workpiece material.
